Sound; 20 seconds
A nursery rhyme of military drones* made with a sampler, aired via radio.
Originating in France, this song has been translated into many languages with new lyrics and titles**. The work explores how the sound migrates across political regimes, and how it becomes a vehicle for militarization, collective memory, and ideological circulation.
*The original recording came from Unmanned Aerial Instrument (UAI) by Mohamed Choucair.
**For example, it was used as a war song called Revolution of the Citizens during the Northern Expedition and is now known as Two Tigers in Taiwan.
✿ With gratitude to Yuri Bruscky for broadcasting it in POSVERSO, la Bienal Internacional de Poesía Experimental de Argentina
