一臺 National 國際牌老收音機,我用其收聽廣播。
1962 年,日本商人松下幸之助與台灣商人洪建全合資成立「台灣松下電器」,其下產品延續兩人公司原有品牌——「ナショナル National(國家的)」和「國際牌」——以「National 國際牌」為名。直到二十一世紀初,日本公司統一改名為「Panasonic」,取自「pan(泛)」和「sonic(聲音)」。
作品承載從古至今語言和文化的交雜、眾聲的越發喧嘩,也紀念陪伴我和眾多家庭的「時代的眼淚」*。
*原文「刻のなみだ 」,出自同時期播出之日本動畫《機動戰士Z鋼彈》,描述因時代變遷而被淘汰,但能喚起集體懷舊情感的事物。該詞今日普遍使用於台灣。

A vintage “National International” radio that I use to listen to the radio.
In 1962, Japanese Kōnosuke Matsushita and Taiwanese Hong Chienchuan (C.C.) established a joint venture “Taiwan Matsushita Electric”, whose products continued the original brands of the both men’s companies—“ナショナル (National)” and “國際牌 (International)”—taking “National 國際牌 (National International)” as the brand name in Taiwan. It was not until the beginning of the 21st century that the Japanese company unified its global name to “Panasonic”, derived from “pan (all)” and “sonic (sound)”.
The work carries the mixture of language and culture and the increasing of different voices from then to now, memorializing “the tears of time”* that have accompanied my and many families.
*The term “刻のなみだ” originally comes from the Japanese animation Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, which aired during the same period. It describes things that have disappeared due to the passage of time but still evoke collective nostalgia. Today, this term is widely used in Taiwan.
