作品將海水、聲音、數據之波相互交織,展現他們恆久不變又轉瞬即逝的特徵:海洋連綿不斷變幻莫測,回應環境形成浪花;帕海貝爾卡農以貫穿始終的低音為基調,旋律重複演進;串流媒體仰賴數據持續流動,顯現於渲染當下。合成器模仿樂器音色,透過波形賦予生命。

Streamed online, a slow-motion horizontal tracking shot captures waves crashing along the coast, set to a synthesizer realization of Johann Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major.*

While the gravitational pull of celestial bodies shapes the cyclical rise and fall of tides, no wave ever returns to the exact same spot—by the time it does, the Earth has already moved on.

The work intertwines the waves of seawater, sound, and data, conveying their both constant yet fleeting nature: the ocean, ever-connected and always changing, creates unique sprays in response to varying conditions; Pachelbel’s Canon holds a steady ground bass while its melody repeats and evolves; streaming media is a continuous flow of data, manifesting in the present moment of rendering. The synthesizer imitates instrumental tones, bringing them to life through waveforms.
